Pixel Filter

The variation knob is the whole component: at zero every block is a flat average, at one each block scales its fill by luminance, giving a halftone read out of square cells.

Block size, gap and corner radius are independent, so the same component covers everything from chunky mosaic to a fine pixel grid.

Pixel Filter: tone mapped pixel blocks over any image

Pixel Filter lays a grid of blocks over your photo and sizes every one of them from the light underneath it. The picture stays a real image and the blocks are drawn live on top, so nothing is baked in and nothing is flattened.
